新安装了redhat企业版5， 每次重启**Xwindow时，出现如下**框： “ESC is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing ESC process, or restart your system.” 根本解决方法是：yum remove esc引用国外文章：
Disabling "Smart Card Manager" n CentOS 5.3 there is a new "Smart Card Manager" window that pops up when I log in to KDE. Is there any way to disable it? As root, run "chkconfig pcscd off" then "/etc/init.d/pcscd stop" or "service pcscd stop" Disabling pcscd didn't get rid of the pop-up and system tray icon. However, I did "yum remove esc" and that did the trick.
